The Boeremark

After 20 years of early mornings, this market remains a local favourite and one of Pretoria’s best kept secrets.

Every Saturday morning at the crack of dawn, a small historical landmark towards the east of Pretoria turns into a bustling farm-style fairground.

The weekly “Boeremark”or farmer’s market offers delicious homemade jams, breads, fresh produce and other handmade goods. Stroll around the landmark and experience the flavours of traditional Afrikaner meals such as melkkos (milk food, a porridge of sorts) pancakes and strong coffee.
