Mpongo Education Centre
Explore an interactive world of wildlife.
Our Education Centre invites primary schools to spend a morning having fun while learning about nature and the environment. Activities are presented by two highly qualified teachers who are passionate about wildlife and conservation.
At the Mongo Education Centre you can see presentations and videos on a wide variety of topics, including all subject matter covered in the CAPS Life and Living curriculum, explore outdoor spaces to find out how animals and plants live in different habitats, go for a walk into the reserve and hopefully meet Stretch, our hand-reared giraffe, participate in scavenger hunts or follow clues which lead you to find interesting answers. We also play team-building games which develop a number of skills; or play board games to consolidate the concept we are studying.
We provide all the equipment needed for lessons so schools do not need to worry about bringing pencils etc. There are options for classes to do a self-drive into the reserve or to go on a game drive in our specially equipped vehicles led by a guide who will give the children all kinds of interesting information. A school outing to Mpongo Education Centre is guaranteed to be a morning full of fun and adventure. Children will learn about nature, the environment and conservation in a fun, hands-on way.
