Sani Stagger

An out and back route, the marathon starts and ends at the Premier Resort Sani Pass on the 25th of November 2017.

This is a tough run; the climb to the Sani Pass Summit is 1300 metres and you do that in just over 20 kilometres! By the time you’ve reached half way you only would have done 280 metres and the border post is at 1968 metres above sea level. This is a race for the hardened and the brave but if the daunting climb does not take your breath away then the sheer beauty and splendour of the Drakensburg certainly will.

Runners taking part in the 21.1km distance will be transported to the top of the pass and will run down again – one of the steepest races in the country.
