Standard Bank Ironman Race: Voted the best run course in the world and 2nd best race venue in the world, the Standard Bank Ironman has cemented itself as the sporting event of the year. Bike – Swim – Run
Athletes can expect a fast and flat coastal stretch on the bike course of this race covering 90kms. Ironman staff, water safety officials and medical officials reserve the right to eliminate participating athletes if they are deemed to be incapable of finishing on time or without physical injury or death. If you are a newcomer, make sure you know how to prepare for an ironman racing event of this challenging nature.
The swimming portion of the ironman in Port Elizabeth will one 3.8km lap and wetsuits will be compulsory if the water temperature is below 16° Celsius. If the water temperature is below 12°, the swimming portion of the race will be cancelled.
The running portion of the race consists of x10.55km laps on a flat run route along the beach coast. Enjoy sunny and salty air while you enjoy the support and encouragement of supporters and spectators.
