Langenhoven Park Farmer’s Market

This quaint market in Bloemfontein is held every Saturday from 06h00 to 14h00 and is located at Bankovs Boulevard in Langenhoven Park. Many markets have come and gone in the Bloemfontein area, but this market has some strong staying power due to the location and the variety of goods on offer. Peruse a large range of cheese, bread, jams, meat products, local produce, art and crafts, vetkoek, boerewors rolls, biltong, ceramics, chocolates, mosaics, jewelry, flowers and pancakes.

National Botanical Garden in Bloemfontein

On the outskirts of Bloemfontein you’ll find this natural gem with tall grasslands and woodland surrounded by magnificent wild olive and karee trees.
Guided tours can be arranged for schools and other large groups with prior arrangement. Tours are done from Monday to Friday between 08h00 and 15h30. The Garden covers 70 hectares and is home to 400 species of plants that originate from the Free State, Northern Cape and Lesotho. From November to March most of the plants are in full leaf and the area is home to 144 bird species, 54 reptile species and 32 mammal species.

Anglo Boer War Musuem

This War Museum in Bloemfontein provides a thorough understanding of the Anglo-Boer War through their art collection and exhibitions.
